The levy and the permit fee apply to a Malaysian nanny on MOM's Work Permit for confinement nanny. A Singaporean or PR nanny needs neither, so set those lines aside if you hire one.
A worked example
With the defaults, a 28-day package at $3,800, the $60 levy for a Singapore citizen baby, the $35 permit fee, red packets of $88 and $188, and $580 of herbs add up to $4,751. That is the example in our confinement nanny price guide. Change the price to your own quote and the total moves with it.
The estimate leaves out her meals, groceries for the family's confinement food, and any surcharge for twins or Chinese New Year, which NannySOS and NewBubs say apply and neither prints an amount for. Our guide to checking an agency with MOM and the arrival checklist cover the rest of the prep.

How much does a confinement nanny cost in Singapore?
On the pages we read on 2 November 2026, agencies print from $135 to $150 a day, or from about $3,880 for a 28-day package. Add MOM's monthly levy for a Malaysian nanny, her insurance, any red packets and herbs.
What is the MOM levy for a confinement nanny?
$60 a month if your newborn is a Singapore citizen and $300 a month if not, as MOM's eligibility page prints. If you also employ a helper, MOM combines both levies in one GIRO deduction.
Does the calculator save my numbers?

Can I use it for a local nanny?
Yes, with the levy and permit lines set aside. MOM's permit is for Malaysian confinement nannies, so a Singaporean or PR nanny needs neither.
