Sesame Street Magical Art World is back at Marina Square for its second chapter, with eight rooms where the Sesame Street characters turn up in paintings by 12 artists, in coloured shadows and on a chalk wall your kids are allowed to draw on. Chapter 2 runs every day from 1 October to 31 December 2026, 12.30pm to 8pm, on Level 3 near the mall's playground. The mall's page lists no ticket price. You get in with a free 30-minute pass that Marina Square hands out when you show a same-day receipt: $20 of spending from Monday to Thursday, or $30 from Friday to Sunday.

Everything below comes from Marina Square's own pages and its owner's announcement, read on 16 October 2026. Passes depend on free slots, so look at the official exhibition page before you set off.

Collect the pass at #03-153 with paper receipts, because the page asks for physical ones. You can put together up to two receipts from the same day, from qualifying shops, and receipts from atrium fairs do not count. The page does not list which shops qualify, so ask at the counter if you plan to use a lunch bill. Friday counts as the weekend here. A family of four needs two passes, which means $40 of spending on a Monday to Thursday or $60 from Friday on.

There is a bonus for bigger shops. Until 8 November 2026, members of the Marina Square app who spend $100 in a day can claim a thermal flask designed by the exhibition's artists, one per member per day while stocks last. One of the designs had already run out when we checked.

What is inside the eight rooms

Marina Square put the exhibition together with COEXIST, a platform for cultural exchange, and each room mixes the characters with the style of a different artist. Half an hour goes fast with a child who wants to draw, so decide the order before you go in.

  • Reflections of Neon is a dark room lit with neon, with a full-length mirror and pop-up words on the walls.
  • Floral Fantasy surrounds you with a giant flower installation and pink walls that set off paintings by Rori Hee.
  • In Colourful Shadow Play, coloured lights turn your shadows into bright blocks of colour. Children will want to try funny shapes.
  • Pipe Beats has xylophones to play with sticks and pipe openings to put an ear to, among pipe-themed paintings by Geoffrey Bouillot.
  • Infinity Lens has fisheye mirrors to pull faces in.
  • Doodle Wonderland gives everyone chalk for a wall covered in Sesame Street drawings, to colour in or add to.
  • The Painting Gallery hangs work by Rori Hee, Geoffrey Bouillot, Arkiv Vilmansa, MAW, Sabek, Sol Felpeto, Super Future Kid, Tatsuhito Horikoshi, Timothy Gatenby, VAGAB, Xizi Liu and Yuya Hashizume.
  • The Finale Experience is a room with seats where videos tell each artist's story and show how they drew their Sesame Street piece.

Each child can ask for an activity booklet with challenges to complete on the way round. Finish them and you get a limited-edition sticker of the artists' work while stocks last. A retail counter sells pieces by the featured artists if your child wants something to take home.

Which ages it suits

Marina Square gives no age guide. Going by the rooms, a two- or three-year-old can manage the chalk wall, the xylophones and the shadow room without help. The booklet will mean more to a child who can follow simple instructions. Reflections of Neon is dark, which some toddlers do not like, so tell them before you walk in or carry them through.

The page says nothing about strollers inside the rooms, so ask when you collect your pass. Marina Square's getting-here page has a section on lift access for wheelchair and pram users.

Getting there by MRT, bus, taxi or car

  • Esplanade MRT (CC3) is the easiest. Marina Link, the basement walkway right next to the station, leads into the mall.
  • From City Hall MRT (NS25/EW13), walk through CityLink Mall, then turn right and take the escalator when you see the Marina Square signs.
  • From Promenade MRT (CC4/DT15), walk through Millenia Walk, leave by the entrance that faces Raffles Boulevard and ride the escalator to Level 2.
  • Buses stop on Raffles Avenue at The Esplanade (02061), on Raffles Boulevard at Promenade Station (02089), on Nicoll Highway opposite War Memorial Park (02119) and on Temasek Boulevard at Suntec Singapore (02151). Services 36, 56, 77, 97, 106, 111, 133, 195, 857 and 960 all call at the Raffles Avenue stop.
  • The taxi stand is near 7-Eleven (#01-206) on Level 1 along Raffles Boulevard, and the pick-up and drop-off point is near YangGuoFu Malatang (#01-202) on the same side.

Driving is cheaper than it looks. From Monday to Thursday, the first two hours between 7am and 5pm cost $3.27, then $1.64 for each extra half hour, and after 5pm it is a flat $2.25 per entry until 11pm. From Friday to Sunday and on public holidays the first two hours cost $2.44, the next two $1.22 an hour, and anything after four hours $1.43 a half hour. If you scan your receipts in the Marina Square app, every $1 earns a point called a SQUARE (from a $20 receipt), and 100 SQUARES take $2 off parking.

Food on the same floor

You can eat on the same floor. The directory lists ASTONS Steak & Salad, CHIC-A-BOO Chicken Specialty, Pizza Hut, Seoul Garden, Good Chance Cafe, Kai Garden, Tang Tea House and Coco Veggie Nyonya Cuisine on Level 3. If the counter accepts restaurant receipts, eat first and keep the slip for your pass.

Rain plan and more to do in the mall

The rooms are indoors. Come by Esplanade MRT and the Marina Link walkway brings you into the mall without a step outside. If your slot is an hour away, Kiztopia is on Level 1 (#01-09 to 15) and Pororo Park Singapore is on Level 2 (#02-29 to 31), with Kidodo Village and Robo Robo on the same floor. Our Kiztopia guide covers the big indoor playground downstairs, and the indoor playgrounds guide compares it with the rest. Forgot the wipes? Mothercare (#03-161/162) and Kiddy Palace (#03-160) are on Level 3.

Making a day of it near Esplanade MRT? Our Esplanade family guide lists what the arts centre runs for children, and weekend activities with kids has more ideas for the same weekend.

Before Marina Square closes

Chapter 3 is due from 8 January to 28 March 2027. Singapore Land Group, which owns Marina Square, says the mall will close on 31 March 2027 for a rebuild expected to finish by 2031. That puts the end of Chapter 3 three days before the doors shut. Our family-friendly malls guide has other malls with play spaces for after it goes.
