If you're after the East Coast Park playground with the lighthouse, that's Marine Cove, in Area C at 1000 East Coast Parkway. NParks lists it as a public playground open 24 hours. Kids aged 5 to 12 get the 8m tower, and two toddler areas take ages 2 to 5. You won't go hungry. Five food outlets share its address. Car parks C3 and C2 sit on either side, and the NParks map puts a toilet block just west of the playground.

This guide sticks to Marine Cove. The rest of the park is in our East Coast Park family guide.

What the lighthouse playground has for 5 to 12s
Your older kids will head straight for the tower. Modelled on a lighthouse, it's 8m tall over 3 storeys and stands at the centre of the playground, and NParks rates it for ages 5 to 12.
The tower has a rope bridge and climbing nets, plus 3 slides set at different levels. One slide is wide enough for a parent and child together. Ride along on the first try if they want you there.
The playground is 3,500 sq m in all. Across it, NParks lists climbing nets and balance beams as well as swings and slides, and says there are options for children of all ages. You get sea views while you watch.
Two toddler areas for ages 2 to 5
Worried about a toddler among the big kids? Marine Cove has 2 play areas designed for younger children, rated for ages 2 to 5. Since the tower is rated 5 to 12, these two are the ones meant for your under-5s.
They have spinning wheels and crazy mirrors. There are toddler-friendly slides too, and a little grass maze. With a toddler and an older child, one can take the tower while the other stays in a toddler area.
Swings and sensory panels for every age
NParks lists some equipment for all ages. Look for swings designed for spinning, and an accessible swing with a safety harness. It says the sensory play panels help with motor skills, hand-eye coordination and a sense of rhythm.
Where to eat near the Marine Cove playground
You don't have to walk far. Five outlets share the Marine Cove address, units #01-01 to #01-05, and the NParks map puts the food and cafe icons right beside the playground. These are the hours each one prints on its own site.
- The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (#01-01): Mon-Sun: 24 Hours. Its store locator adds that public holiday and eve of public holiday hours may differ.
- Tash Tish Tosh (#01-02): Wednesday-Monday 11am-11pm, with last order at 10pm.
- East Coast Commune (#01-03): Mon - Thu 0800 - 1700 and Fri - Sun 0800 - 2100, closed on Tuesday.
- My Briyani House (#01-04): its operator, Mr Teh Tarik, doesn't print hours for this outlet.
- McDonald's (#01-05): Sun to Thu 7am to 12am, and 24 hours on Fri, Sat and PH Eve. Its store page sends you to the app for current hours, so these may change.
On Tuesdays, East Coast Commune is closed and Tash Tish Tosh's hours skip the day. McDonald's and Coffee Bean print Tuesday hours.
McDonald's calls this its Family Flagship Restaurant at East Coast Park, and it's one of five McDonald's in Singapore with a playground. Planning a party? It takes birthday parties on 6243 0471.
How to get to the Marine Cove playground by MRT, bus or car
By MRT
Marine Terrace (TE27), on the Thomson-East Coast Line, is your stop. LTA's walk and cycle map shows it as the nearest station to Marine Cove Playground. It opened with TEL4 on 23 June 2024, but LTA doesn't print an exit for the park.
Then find the Marine Terrace Underpass and cross under the East Coast Parkway. The NParks map shows it coming out beside car park C3 and Marine Cove. NParks' own park page lists only Bedok MRT as nearby.
By bus 401
Bus 401 only runs on weekends and public holidays. It's a loop from Bedok Interchange. Marine Cove is stop 92289, 7.1 km in, and on the way back the bus also stops at 92191, opposite car park C3.
The first and last buses leave Bedok Interchange at 2.00pm and 10.00pm on Saturdays. On Sundays and public holidays, they leave at 10.00am and 8.00pm, every 20 minutes. Count those as departure times from Bedok, not arrival times at Marine Cove.
By car
Park at C3, just west of Marine Cove, or C2, just east. C3 is the smaller one, with 99 car lots. C2 has 331 car lots and 4 EV charging lots, and NParks says parking fees may apply.
Area C's other car parks are C1, with 294 car lots, and C4, with 106. Skip C4 for now. Its footpath is closed for widening until 21 November 2026.
By bike
You can cycle in on the Bedok, Coastal or Siglap park connectors.
Prams, toilets, heat and crowds
Pushing a pram? NParks lists East Coast Park as wheelchair accessible, apart from some parts of the Xtreme Skatepark in Area F. It also lists the park as elderly friendly. If you drive, C2 has 4 lots for handicapped visitors and C3 has 2.
McDonald's history page says its 2016 reopening at Marine Cove added an area to park prams and a shadow wall for children. It doesn't say if they're still there.
Toilets are close. The NParks map shows a block just west of the playground, on a map file dated 20 April 2022.
Since the playground is open 24 hours, you can dodge the midday sun by coming early or after dinner, with hats and water in the bag. We didn't find busy times on any NParks page. If C3 is full, try C2. It has more than three times the lots.
Make a day of it, with more things to do along East Coast Park
Walk one cove west to Raintree Cove, also in Area C. NParks calls it a peaceful and relaxing space, with swings and a nature playgarden.
Coastal PlayGrove in Area B is the park's other play area for children on NParks' list. Our Coastal PlayGrove guide covers its ages and hours.
If the kids go into the sea, cover up. NParks advises anyone entering the water to cover exposed skin, after a rise in jellyfish sightings along Singapore's southern coasts.
After the beach, our Marine Parade family guide covers Katong food and the indoor playground at iMall. For more outdoor ideas, try our guides to playgrounds in Singapore and water play parks. On a wet day, use our indoor playgrounds guide.
