In this article
Movies by the Beach is Sentosa's free outdoor cinema: a film on a big screen every Saturday and Sunday night, with no ticket and no booking. The 2026 season ends on 1 November. Until 18 October the films start at 7pm on the Palawan Kidz City Roof Garden. From 24 October they move to Fort Siloso, beside the Surrender Chambers, and start at 7.30pm. Below is the line-up for the weekends left, the nights that work for small children, and how to get there and home.

Everything here comes from Sentosa's own event pages, read on 12 October 2026. Sentosa can change a film or a venue, so open the official Movies by the Beach page on the day.
What's showing, weekend by weekend

| Sun 18 Oct | The Addams Family (2019) | PG | Palawan Kidz City Roof Garden, 7pm |
| Sat 24 Oct | Night at the Museum (2006) | PG, 1hr 48min | Fort Siloso, beside the Surrender Chambers, 7.30pm |
| Sun 25 Oct | Dora and the Lost City of Gold (2019) | PG, 1hr 44min | Fort Siloso, 7.30pm |
| Sat 31 Oct | Happy Death Day (2017) | PG13, horror, 1hr 36min | Fort Siloso, 7.30pm |
| Sun 1 Nov | Happy Death Day 2U (2019) | PG13, horror, 1hr 40min | Fort Siloso, 7.30pm |
Entry is free and you do not book. The season started on 4 July, so the earlier films have already played. Sentosa calls the line-up suitable for all ages, but look at the last weekend before you promise anything: both Halloween films are PG13 horror about a student who keeps reliving the day she is murdered. That is not one for a five-year-old.
Which nights suit young children
If your child goes to bed by 8.30pm, aim for the Roof Garden weekend. Nanny McPhee on Saturday 17 October is the shortest PG film left at 1 hour 37 minutes, so a 7pm start finishes at about 8.40pm. It is a gentle story about a nanny with magic powers and seven badly behaved children, which most preschoolers can follow.
For children of five and up who can stay awake later, Dora and the Lost City of Gold on Sunday 25 October is the easy pick: Dora leads her friends on a hunt for a lost city of gold, with a heroine many preschoolers already know. It starts at 7.30pm at Fort Siloso and runs 1 hour 44 minutes, so you are packing up after 9.10pm. Night at the Museum on 24 October, a fantasy comedy, runs 1 hour 48 minutes.
Getting there
The two venues are at different ends of Palawan and Siloso, so check which weekend you are going.
- Palawan Kidz City Roof Garden (to 18 Oct): take the Sentosa Express to Beach Station, or bus 123 to Beach Station, then walk to Palawan Kidz City and go up to the Roof Garden on level 3. The nearest car park is Beach Station.
- Fort Siloso (24 Oct to 1 Nov): take the Sentosa Express or bus 123 to Beach Station, then Sentosa Bus A or the Beach Shuttle to Siloso Point. The screening is beside the Surrender Chambers. The nearest car park is again Beach Station Car Park.
- The Fort Siloso Skywalk lift runs from 9am to 10pm, which helps if you arrive early and want the treetop walk first.
Our Sentosa with kids guide covers the island's trains and buses in more detail, and the Sentosa beaches family guide compares Palawan, Siloso and Tanjong for a beach afternoon before the film.
What to bring and the house rules
- A picnic mat or blanket. Sentosa's own page tells you to spread one out under the stars.
- Insect repellent and a light layer, since you are outdoors after dark.
- Snacks and water bottles so you are not queuing for food when the film starts.
- Leave the Bluetooth speaker at home: external Bluetooth speakers are not allowed.
Sentosa's page shows a wheelchair access icon for the Palawan Kidz City venue. It says nothing about stroller parking or nursing rooms at either screening, so plan on keeping the stroller beside your mat.
Food before the film
Good Old Days Food Court at Beach Station is air-conditioned and halal, open 10am to 10pm with last orders at 9pm, and Sentosa lists laksa, nasi briyani and chicken rice among its dishes. It is a short walk from Palawan Kidz City and on the way to the Siloso bus. For something sit-down with a sea view, Sentosa also points to Coastes, which serves Western food on the beachfront.

Make an afternoon of it
Two free things on Palawan Beach fit neatly before a 7pm film. Stories by the Beach is a sit-and-read spot with a mobile library of pre-loved books run with NLB, on until 30 November. Children can take a book home without borrowing it and are asked to bring it back later. The beach itself is the other free thing, so pack a change of clothes.
If you would rather spend the afternoon indoors, Into the Glowcean runs at the Singapore Oceanarium until 1 November from 10am to 8pm, with glowing sea-life sculptures and Halloween treats for kids. Our Singapore Oceanarium family guide covers tickets and timing. For more ideas on the same weekend, see What's On for families and our weekend activities with kids list.
If it rains
Sentosa's terms say the screening is cancelled in inclement weather. The page does not say how a cancellation is announced, so check the event page and the sky before you leave home. If a storm rolls in once you are there, the air-conditioned food court at Beach Station is the closest place to wait it out with a tired child.
