Toddlers & Young Kids
Guides for ages 1 to 6 in Singapore: sleep, development, behaviour and child health, each built on Singapore hospital and government pages.
After the first birthday the questions change. When does the second nap go? Why is my toddler awake again? How many words should a two-year-old have? This hub collects our guides for that stretch, from the first birthday to the year before Primary 1.
Start with sleep. The toddler sleep guide has hours and bedtimes by age from Singapore's 24-hour activity guidelines, and the bedtime calculator works out a bedtime from your child's wake-up time. For health checks, the child health screening guide lists each developmental check up to Primary 1.

Frequently asked questions
How much sleep does a toddler need?
Singapore's 24-hour activity guidelines for early childhood give 11 to 14 hours a day at 1 to 2 years and 10 to 13 hours at 3 to 5 years, naps included. The toddler sleep guide turns that into bedtimes by age.
When do toddlers stop napping?
KKH says most toddlers drop to one nap a day at about 18 months, and many give up the daytime nap by age 5. If a late nap pushes bedtime back, shorten it or move it earlier first.
Is it normal for my toddler to snore?
Often, yes. SingHealth says about 10% of children snore on most nights, and 1 to 3% also have breathing problems in their sleep. Our toddler snoring guide lists the signs that need a doctor.
Which developmental checks are due after the first birthday?
HealthHub's Child Health Booklet page lists developmental screening visits at 18, 30 and 48 months, after the first-year checks. The screening guide says what each one covers.
